Quantum Optical Ground Station Marietta Blau
Successful installation
of the Quantum Optical Ground Station Marietta Blau on the Hafelekar
On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, ASA Astrosysteme successfully completed the installation of the Quantum Optical Ground Station Marietta Blau on the Hafelekar mountain near Innsbruck.
At the heart of the new facility is an ASA AZ1000 telescope, specifically developed to meet the demanding requirements of cutting-edge quantum research.
Due to the extreme location, the project posed unique logistical challenges: all components of the Quantum Optical Ground Station had to be transported by helicopter in multiple flights. The operation was only possible under perfect weather conditions, which fortunately aligned on the installation day.
The new ground station sets new standards in quantum research and represents a significant milestone for our customer, the University of Innsbruck.
