ASA AZ800 for Cutting-Edge Exoplanet Science

ASA AZ800 telescopes power the MARVEL Exoplanet Observatory

We are proud to announce our contribution to one of Europe’s most ambitious exoplanet research facilities: the MARVEL project, currently under construction at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma.
The observatory will feature four ASA AZ800 Ritchey–Chrétien telescopes, each connected via optical fibers to a shared, high-resolution radial velocity spectrograph. Designed for a precision of 1 m/s, MARVEL will help determine the masses, orbits, and activity of thousands of stars hosting exoplanets.

This world-class facility will provide critical ground-based support for upcoming space missions like TESS, PLATO (launch 2026) and ARIEL (launch 2028) — boosting the scientific return of ESA and NASA missions.

We’re excited to share that three of four ASA AZ800 systems are already installed and aligned — bringing this cutting-edge observatory one step closer to first light.
