An Evening of Stars, Technology and Inspiration
On 04.09.2025, ASA Astrosysteme together with INNOVAMETALL hosted the Orbyx Night 2025. Numerous guests, partners, and friends gathered in the Mühlviertel region to experience an unforgettable evening.
The event offered a fascinating blend of high-tech innovation, science, and entertainment. In addition to exciting insights into the latest developments from ASA Astrosysteme and INNOVAMETALL, the program featured inspiring talks, live demonstrations, and personal exchanges.
A special highlight was the coverage by Mühlviertel TV, capturing the unique atmosphere of the night and showcasing its memorable moments.
With Orbyx Night, ASA and Innovametall once again demonstrated their commitment to innovation, regional collaboration, and passion for astronomy and technology.

11-meter dome for the Atacama Desert
ASA Astrosysteme (Kefermarkt) and Innovametall (Freistadt) are collaborating on several projects, including the construction of an 11-meter dome with a laser-equipped telescope to be installed in Chile’s Atacama Desert by April 2026.
They have developed a container-dome system that serves both as transport protection and the final observatory housing, designed for efficient deployment and automatic operation (e.g. closing during adverse weather).
Locally, they plan a tourism and education center in Freistadt for astronomical observation and solar research, aimed also at schools and public outreach.
They emphasize the importance of laser communication technology for high-volume, secure data transmission and expect rising global demand for such ground stations in the next decade.
