ASA AZ2500 f7 f2

The extension of evolution of high-end telescope systems with 2.5m aperture.

2500mm f7/f2 Ritchey-Chrétien large telescope with new design features. Perfect optical alignment, the interaction of the ASA hexapod on the secondary mirror (M2) with the active mirror cell for the primary mirror (M1) actively optimises the optical alignment for the best image quality. New fork design, the new high performance concrete fork structure further improves the natural frequency characteristics of the ASA large telescopes.

This complete solution represents a fully integrated alt-az observatory system. The AZ2500, with ASA’s biggest mirror with 2.5m, is equipped with ASA optics (Zerodur). This guarantees diffraction-limited performance and best micro-roughness values even under the most perfect Earth-based astronomical seeing conditions. With fast focal ratio, the design results in less obstruction, higher contrast, and a more compact system. The size and cost of your dome infrastructure is reduced.

RC & CDK Comparison

1. The ASA RC primary mirrors are faster than a CDK and therefore the OTA is significantly shorter.
2. The CDK design requires a larger secondary for a given aperture (RC offers higher contrast).
3. ASA’s design is more versatile than the CDK where the corrective optics must be used.
